How Much Cyber Real Estate Do You Own?

If you are starting out in online marketing, you will probably come across many opinions on how to start and generate “organic” traffic to your website or blog. Organic traffic is the term used for traffic that is generated based on search engine optimization, or SEO. There is a lot of information out there on SEO and how to select and use keywords for improved rankings. And that is just part of how search engines determine where you land on google’s coveted first page.

What I am going to talk about in this post is just a part of SEO. It is cyber real estate. As you may infer from the name, this means how much information you own somewhere out there on the internet. This may be in the form of articles, videos, podcasts, blogs, etc. It is really any form of information that was created by you.

You can have these various pieces of information link back to your blog where you then have your call to action. It is usually your objective in online marketing to direct traffic to a central place and then they learn more about you and your business.

The more “cyber real estate” you own, the higher your ranking will be.

Let’s just look at article marketing. You have an article out on several article directories, each with link to a specific blog post. The article gets a few comments…that create a few more links back to you. That helps in your ranking for your blog.

Every post in your blog that is new content helps boost your rankings. Each blog post can be thought of as cyber real estate that you own. As you create more and more blog posts, you are building more long term stability in your online business.
